Also, it would ensure that any water will not be absorbed by the wood of the barn which could cause it to rot and have to be replaced.
#3 - Orientation of the Building
It is critical that you make sure that you pay attention to which direction the wind blows towards where you are intending to locate your structure. Then, using your hay barn plans, make sure that the doorway to it is placed on the side opposite to where the wind will be strongest. Not only will this ensure that the items within the shed are taken care of, it is going to scale down the amount of wind loads placed upon it.
If you opt for free barn plans, or attempt to build the barn with no blueprints, you're going to have to figure all of these items out by yourself, which could be disastrous. Using good quality hay barn plans will ensure that all of these items are taken care of, and that your project is not only successful, but under budget as well.
